The ideal candidate will have previous public cloud experience delivering enterprise solutions within financial services, including knowledge of the security and regulatory requirements applicable to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

You will work alongside cloud engineering, network, security, and risk management teams to build and test platform features for Google BigQuery. You will collaborate with our cloud engineering teams and businesses to implement and continuously improve self-service builds and test automation. You will develop custom code primarily using Python, Terraform, and CI/CD tools (like Git Actions) to enhance and automate cloud services.

You will have a strong passion for writing code to automate and integrate technologies across environments, eliminating manual steps. You will work with our business developers and internal teams to maintain a backlog of features and enhancements to continuously enhance the build experience for our businesses.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain orchestration code using Google Cloud SDK, Terraform (GCP modules), and GitHub Actions.
  • Design automated tests to validate security policies, business features, and integrations across GCP Big Query.
  • Ensure compliance with GCP IAM, Active Directory, PingFed, and Google Cloud Identity for secure access management
  • Troubleshoot networking components (e.g., GCP VPC, Firewall Rules, Cloud DNS).
  • Develop APIs, SDKs, and Webhooks for integrating GCP and enterprise systems (e.g., DevOps tools, monitoring platforms).
  • Manage cloud security controls, including GCP Secret Manager, PKI, data encryption, and VPC Service Controls
  • Continuously improve self-service automation for platform services, ensuring minimal manual intervention.
  • Experience with automated testing and integrating key data services across Azure (e.g., Databricks, Data Factory, Azure ML) and GCP (e.g., BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Vertex AI).
  • Write and use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates, primarily using Terraform, for provisioning and managing resources in both Azure and GCP.
  • Understand Azure & Google Cloud security features (data protection, authentication, IAM/RBAC, network security, etc.).
  • Understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and managing certificates within Azure and GCP PaaS services and applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot cloud networking concepts including DNS, connectivity, Network Security Groups (Azure NSG) / Firewall Rules (GCP), routing, and load balancing across both Azure and GCP.
  • Proficiency in cloud automation using native CLIs (Azure CLI, gcloud CLI) and SDKs.
  • Understand concepts related to deploying platform components and data analytics solutions via CI/CD pipelines targeting both cloud environments.
  • Ensure that all cloud solutions follow internally defined security and compliance controls for both Azure and GCP.
  • Develop/Consume APIs, SDKs, and Webhooks for multi-directional integration of our cloud orchestration platform with enterprise systems, DevOps Tools, and Azure/GCP platforms.
  • Ability to participate effectively in fast-paced DevOps Engineering teams within Scrum agile processes.
  • A critical thinker with strong research and analytics skills.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and an ability to work independently and in a team.

Required Skills:
  • 1 year of experience developing IaC orchestration code using Python SDKs (Azure, GCP), Terraform, and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions/Runners).
  • 1 year experience writing automated test use cases to validate security policies and business features across cloud platforms.
  • Experience in cloud Identity and Access Management (IAM) including Google Cloud IAM, and integration with enterprise identity providers (e.g., Active Directory, PingFederate).
  • Must be a self-starter; demonstrated ability to take independent action to achieve results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly with all levels within the team.
