With an unmatched breadth and depth of engineering, advisory and science-based expertise, our global minds unite to power local solutions. We are pathfinders and impact makers.
We are Visioneers. We are WSP.

The Opportunity

The Global Marketing & Communications (MarCom) Strategy & Operations function is a new capability we are building from the ground up. Its purpose is to set the direction, strengthen alignment, and create the systems, tools, and ways of working that enable MarCom teams across the Global Partnering, Region Teams, and Global MarCom Services (GMS) to deliver with impact.

We're bringing together people who are curious and collaborative, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills - people who enjoy turning fresh ideas into impact. This is a team for those who thrive on building, shaping, and scaling something new, and who are motivated by helping others succeed.

Position Overview

The Strategy & Planning role plays a pivotal role in shaping how Global MarCom plans, measures, and invests for impact. Sitting within the Strategy & Planning (S&P) pillar - part of the broader Strategy & Operations (S&O) function - this role combines analytical thinking, strategic design, and collaborative leadership to connect business priorities with actionable plans and measurable outcomes.

This role is designed to evolve with the individual's strengths and career development goals, providing opportunities to take ownership of specific focus areas while contributing to shared priorities across the S&O function and the wider MarComms community.

Where Your Ideas Matter - If you're ready to take your career to the next level, this role offers the chance to work on projects that push boundaries and impact communities worldwide. Be part of a team that values your ideas, expertise, and growth.

Your Impact

The responsibilities below reflect the collective remit of the Strategy & Planning team. Individual areas of focus will be determined based on each team member's strengths, experience, and development opportunities. While not every responsibility will sit with each individual, all work will be approached collaboratively as a small, agile team, ensuring clarity of ownership and accountability across the portfolio.

Insights & Foresight
  • Integrate external intelligence (market, sector, and client trends) with internal data (brand performance, campaigns, digital engagement) to inform strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to co-develop insights dashboards and foresight briefs that help leaders anticipate trends and opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of a centralized Market & Client Insights Engine that supports evidence-based planning.

Strategic Planning & Alignment
  • Translate enterprise and business priorities into a coherent MarCom strategy and execution plan, aligned across Global, Regional, and Shared Services teams.
  • Co-lead annual and quarterly planning cycles - designing frameworks, timelines, and tools that bring structure, clarity, and consistency across the function.
  • Develop and govern prioritization framework to prioritize MarCom global effort.
  • Partner with other S&P colleagues to ensure strategic alignment across business priorities, market focus, and investment decisions.
  • Collaborate with business strategy, sector, and market leaders to ensure MarComms priorities reflect evolving client needs and market opportunities.

Budgeting, Resource & Investment Governance
  • Support the development, tracking, and optimization of the global MarCom budget.
  • Help design and manage processes for budget allocation, reforecasting, and investment governance - ensuring alignment between strategic priorities and financial resources.
  • Partner with Enablement & Acceleration and Operations colleagues to embed resource planning and reporting into broader S&O systems and dashboards.

Performance (KPI) Measurement & Reporting
  • Develop measurement framework, processes and infrastructure to monitor and report progress against MarCom KPIs, that demonstrate MarCom impact across business outcomes.
  • Measure, monitor, analyze performance results, and develop powerful insights that inform MarCom decision making, strategy, and planning.
  • Help design and facilitate quarterly business reviews and leadership performance discussions.

Collaboration & Ways of Working
  • Work in close partnership with team colleagues to balance responsibilities across strategy, planning, budgeting, and insight workstreams - flexing focus as priorities evolve.
  • Collaborate across the S&O function (Operations, and Enablement & Acceleration) to ensure seamless integration of data, systems, and processes.
  • Act as a connector across Global, Regional, and Global MarCom Services teams, ensuring planning and performance approaches are consistent, transparent, and inclusive.
  • Support a culture of shared learning, coaching, and continuous improvement within the S&O and wider MarCom community.

Career Development & Growth
  • Take ownership of specific strategic or analytical focus areas aligned to strengths and development goals (e.g., financial governance, insights, performance frameworks, or strategic planning).
  • Contribute to the development of new tools, frameworks, and initiatives that strengthen S&O's global capability - particularly AI and Automation.
  • Build relationships across the MarCom network to broaden influence and exposure to global priorities and leadership discussions.

The skills that set you apart
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, or related discipline.
  • 12+ years' experience in marketing strategy, planning, analytics, or operations within a complex, global environment.
  • Proven experience leading strategic planning, budgeting, or performance measurement processes.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills - adept at influencing across a matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated agility and comfort operating across multiple priorities and time horizons.
  • Experience collaborating within cross-functional teams spanning analytics, finance, digital, and communications.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to drive efficiency and also deliver value through insights.
  • Skilled in Excel and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
