The Opportunity

In this role, you'll apply your academic knowledge on real-world projects, working alongside experienced engineers to shape the roads, interchanges, and active transportation corridors that people rely on every day
Your Impact
- Support the design of urban and rural roadways, intersections, interchanges, and active transportation facilities using modern civil design tools.
- Assist with horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-sections, grading, and drainage layouts for highway and road projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings, 3D models, and design details in collaboration with senior engineers and CAD technicians.
- Contribute to technical reports, design summaries, quantity take-offs, and tender documents that help move projects from concept through construction.
- Participate in site visits and field reviews to observe construction, gather data, and help resolve design or construction issues.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (transportation planning, structures, geotechnical, environmental, municipal) to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Apply applicable design standards, guidelines, and best practices to help ensure safety, accessibility, and sustainability are built into every design.

The Skills That Set You Apart
- A recent or upcoming Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with a focus or strong interest in transportation, highways, or municipal infrastructure.
- Eligibility to register, or already registered, as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with a provincial engineering association (e.g., APEGA, EGBC, APEGS, etc.).
- Foundational knowledge of roadway geometric design, drainage, and pavements, gained through coursework, co-op, internships, or capstone projects.
- Experience with civil design and drafting software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation/OpenRoads, or similar tools, and an eagerness to keep learning new platforms.
- Comfort working with data (survey, GIS, traffic, terrain models) and translating it into practical, buildable designs.
- A collaborative mindset - you enjoy working in teams, asking questions, and sharing ideas to solve complex problems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and pay close attention to detail in your work.
- A genuine desire to do work that positively impacts clients, communities, and the environment through resilient and sustainable transportation solutions.

Compensation
- BC, AB, SK, NWT & NU: $66,700 - $88,400
- MB & ON: $60,900 - $83,800
- Atlantic Provinces & QC: $60,300 - $80,000
