We're hiring two Group Risk Managers, Operational Risk!

We're looking for someone who:
As an individual contributor, you will report to the AVP, Canadian Personal Banking Operational Risk, and be responsible for collaborating with the various business lines within Canadian Personal Banking to ensure that risks are properly identified, assessed, mitigated, and reported. You will be expected to build strong relationships with stakeholders, challenge existing business practices, and provide consultative guidance to influence process design improvements with the overall goal of strengthening the control environment and assisting the business to remain within their Risk Appetite.

Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate complex operational risk concepts clearly and effectively to both audiences across the 3 lines of defense.
- Influence and challenge business practices and processes to ensure alignment with the line of business risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
- Provide expert consultation and guidance on the design and implementation of risk controls and ensure robust and meaningful rationale is documented and provided to the line of business.
- Monitor, identify, and assess operational risks across various processes and recommend strategies for mitigation.
- Participate in risk reviews and challenge risk assessments to identify potential areas of improvement.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement by adopting a growth mindset and fostering innovation in risk management approaches.
Job Requirements
- Deep knowledge of multiple products areas within CPB lines of businesses and/or related operational processes.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to leverage data and analytical thinking to drive operational and control insights as a basis for effective challenge.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain risk concepts to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making and challenge business practices constructively.
- Proven experience in consulting and providing strategic advice to support risk management initiatives.
- In-depth understanding of risk management policies, frameworks, and regulatory requirements in the financial industry.
- Familiarity with process design, control implementation, and risk assessment techniques.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Risk Management, Business, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CRISC, FRM) are a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in operational risk management, preferably within a highly regulated financial institution.
- Level 1 Operational Risk Management certification program to be completed within first year; Levels 2 and 3 within 2 years.
