Brainhunter is currently seeking "Intermediate Business System Analyst" to work for our valued Financial Service Client. The position requires the successful consultant to be on-site 3 days a week in London, Ontario.

Any specific tools/skillset:


    • 5-7 years' experience with the role
    • University or College education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies (eg Waterfall, Iterative, Agile)
    • Working knowledge of business processes across systems
    • Proficient knowledge of strategies for gathering, analyzing, and validating requirements
    • Proficient business acumen and knowledge of related industry business functions
    • Experience as Business Systems Analyst in a team environment
    • Proficient experience with:
      • Collecting requirements and translating them into software product designs and specifications
      • Test-driven development and test frameworks

    • Experience with adapting methods to meet specific project or product needs

Role profile description:
The Business Systems Analyst analyzes business problems and requirements (can refer to business, stakeholder/user, functional, non-functional and/or transition requirements) to develop product (can refer to an application, system, service, process, product configuration, infrastructure element, or other asset to be developed or modified) specifications and contribute to product design efforts. The Business Systems Analysts is a fully proficient analyst, who uses their past experiences and industry knowledge to troubleshoot and solves problems effectively and efficiently. This role applies broad knowledge to difficult work and supports less experienced employees in their development. This role is accountable for proficient and independent analysis, managing relationships and collaboration with stakeholders.
    • Guides and facilitates the analysis for less complex products
    • Elicits and validates business requirements
    • Performs analysis to determine impacts to products
    • Validates requirements and proposed solutions to stakeholder's satisfaction and translates those processes, needs and requirements into related artifacts and documentation
    • Ensures overall testing efforts represent business and systems requirements in partnership with the QA team (where applicable)
    • Develops and maintains test documentation, test strategy, review and supports testing outcomes as required
    • Gains exposure to and learns new technologies, frameworks and tools
    • Evaluates and learns new analysis strategies, tools and methods that provide business value
    • Takes accountability for own and towards team deliverables
    • Trains newer analysts in how to gather requirements and solve problems effectively
    • Provides training to new or less senior professionals or cross discipline practitioners on processes, tools and approaches
    • Shares knowledge and experience with members of the team to identify and share opportunities to improve the work, identify better ways of doing things
