One of Canada's leading tech companies is seeking a junior Systems Engineer/DevOps to join their global innovation team. This opportunity would be relevant to anyone with 2 years' end-user support experience. The breakdown of responsibilities is about 80% operations and 20% development.   • Support primary tools used across the business
  • Executes technical projects and deployments
  • Implement solutions for internal teams globally
  • Contribute to the team's knowledge base
  • Work through the backlog of tickets
  • Use best practice to improve products/services or processes
  • Set up processes and metrics that improve efficiency with operational teams
  • Serve as the main point of contact for internal SaaS inquiries and act as direct contact with management team members
  • Provide after-hours on-call support when needed to ensure operations run smoothly
  • Optimize existing SaaS configurations to meet changing requirements

The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • Experience working with AWS (EC2, ECS, S3, Lambda, Fargate, DynamoDB/RDS) or GCP
  • Good programming skills, experience with a language such as Python, Java, Go, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell
  • Experience with Google Admin and G Suite automation (GAM, Apps Script)
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Serverless Framework)
  • Linux systems administration experience desired
  • Enjoy automating processes, use ChatOps to make their lives easier (Slack commands, bots)
  • Basic knowledge of containers (Docker, Container Orchestration)
  • Troubleshooting and managing internal SaaS applications
  • Experience working in a Continuous Delivery cycle
  • Have an eye for detecting process optimization
