Department and Position Overview:
Reporting to Senior Manager, GPS Employee Protection Programs, the Manager Special Event & Travel Security will work in cooperation with GPS management and GPS teams to support post-incident risk mitigation and life safety programs.
The Manager works across functional teams of highly-skilled professionals in gathering critical information that allows TDBG to properly identify and mitigate threats to its personnel, business operations and physical assets in North America and Internationally. The Manager role will also support both regional and national security programs.
Job Description Summary
Provide day-to-day team leadership of a team, to ensure effective and efficient delivery of physical security support of Special Events and Employee business travel. Maintain the TD Bank Special Events and Travel Security team including oversight of day to day operations, performance management, initiative and solution development and the application of TD risk management practices to incidents. Responsible for satisfying the safety and security needs of TD Bank for the protection of employees and events, visitors, vendors, and assets as required.

Job Description Summary

CUSTOMER:
- Manages key programs, initiative and projects that provide support to GPS and Internal Stakeholders.
- Provides internal event planners and travelling employees (across all business lines) with security and risk management advice, guidance and solutions.
- Create and oversee security plans and treatments for large scale TDBG special events
- Lead a team to achieve business / operational objectives, maintain effective day-to-day delivery of quality service consistent with business objectives
- Directly supports Protective Services programs for efficient execution of program delivery
- Maintain incident tracking, provides stakeholder notifications, reporting, and performs analysis using historical data
- Oversee all aspect of the Travel Security and Special Event related procedures and guidelines to ensure consistent and appropriate support is provided.
- Contributes to the implementation and maintenance of a best in class Travel Security Program
- Monitor and support TD's business travel footprint by identifying travel to regions with heightened risk; providing both proactive and reactive support to travelling employees.
- Identification of TD traveler assets during incidents, safety confirmation of employees in regions of incidents, and providing advice and support for travelers will also be required.
- Prepare personalized written travel briefings for employees travelling to high risk regions for business travel, as well as travel briefings for senior executives in support of the Executive Protection Program (EPP).
- Lead and coach the team and ensure transparent, open and constructive performance conversations
- Validate request for authenticity, thoroughness and conformance to TD Polices, GSI's procedures and legislated regulations
- Manages and facilitates approvals and distribution of reports as required.
SHAREHOLDER:
- Contribute to the development of the business plan, operationalize the plan and deliver on assigned service/functionality
- Work with key business leaders to develop business plan, ensuring the optimal use of resources and leverage TD's operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and scale
- Monitor and communicate effectiveness of strategies, programs, and practices related to own area of accountability
- Ensure programs, policies and practices continue to meet business needs, comply with internal and external requirements, and align with business priorities
- Proactively identify key business opportunities, research and recommend enhancements/ modifications, develop strategies to achieve recommendations.
- Supervise day-to-day operations / activities, balance workloads, ensure compliance to internal / external requirements and the achievement of service level standards and productivity targets
- Resolve escalated matters and refer complex issues / situations beyond own level of expertise
- Ensure adherence to operating standards and processes - perform quality checks and validation of work
- Review and/or update procedures ensuring all functions and systems are well documented
- Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
- Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite.
- Monitor service, productivity and assess efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process / performance improvements where opportunities exist
- Identify operational issues and recommend improvements, may provide support during implementation of new process changes
- Apply knowledge of systems, programs and services, and external requirements, in achieving efficiency and productivity objectives for the group
