The Opportunity:

The National Director, Transmission & Distribution is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of WSP's T&D operations across Canada. This includes strategic planning, budgeting, and execution of transmission and distribution projects, ensuring compliance with national and local regulations, and maintaining high standards of service reliability and customer satisfaction.

What you can expect to do here:
  • You will make recommendations and be involved with important decision making on highly technical and complex aspects of WSP projects;
  • You will develop and implement strategic plans for the Transmission & Distribution sector;
  • You will actively lead project planning, resourcing, staffing, de-staffing, supply and subcontract management;
  • You will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards and provide oversight and governance on the various major project ongoing within the T&D team;
  • You will assess project resources' capability to accomplish current and future assigned work and initiate actions as required to meet commitments;
  • You will collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and service quality.
  • You will build mutually beneficial internal/external client relationships through the relentless pursuit of excellence;

What you'll bring to WSP:
  • More than 15 years' experience in a leadership role, and must have experience in the Power sector with Transmission & Distribution;
  • Engineering degree in a related discipline or technical diploma from post-secondary institution is required;
  • Proven experience in business development with an existing network in the Transmission & Distribution market;
  • Strong financial and business acumen - experience with managing business operations and/or a P&L is an asset;
  • Strong understanding of the energy sector, including industry trends and emerging technologies related to the energy transformation and decarbonization;
  • Ability to negotiate and build relationships with clients;
  • P.Eng. or P.Tech. designation is an asset;
  • Bilingual in both French and English is an asset.
