We are seeking a Software Engineer (Backend Services) to develop our core services components for deployment in a cloud-native environment.

JOB DUTIES:

• Writing and supporting services written in node.js for a cloud environment
• Creating unit and integration tests
• Participating in the design and development of HAILO's service offerings as a member our engineering team, following a Scrum agile software development methodology
• Assisting with resolving production issues and bug fixes

MUST HAVE SKILLS:

• 5+ years of software development experience, with minimum of 3 years in modern distributed application development
• Expertise as a Javascript/node.js developer: you know your ES2015 from your ES.next
• Experience developing service-oriented applications in a microservices environment
• Experience with CI/CD, automation, iterative development, and secure software design
• Experience writing and interfacing to REST APIs
• Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases
• Proficient with Git
• At home on the Unix command line

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:

• Knowledge of other programming languages such as Python, Typescript, etc.
• Polyglots are valued.
• It would be great if you had experience with:
• Google Cloud Platform and/or Amazon Web Services
• Cloud native platforms, eg:
• Docker & Containers
• Kubernetes
• Helm
• GraphQL
• Message queueing
• OAuth 2.0 / OIDC

COMPENSATION
