Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Partnership Framework Specialist to join our Transaction Banking team at the Vice President level. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and optimizing a repeatable partner engagement framework that supports the full lifecycle of third-party vendor relationships across our various lines of business. The successful candidate will blend expertise in transaction banking operations, vendor management, and partnership enablement to streamline onboarding, accelerate time-to-market, and maximize value from strategic collaborations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Framework Development & Optimization
- Design a scalable, repeatable partner framework applicable to diverse vendor types and business lines.
- Identify and document flexible onboarding pathways including proof-of-concept (POC) pilots, sandbox testing approaches, and full production integrations.
- Create clear assessment and evaluation models for vendors, ensuring alignment with the bank's strategic goals, regulatory requirements, sourcing partners and operational standards.
2. Third-Party Vendor Management
- Oversee the vendor management lifecycle from initial identification through due diligence, onboarding, performance monitoring, and renewal/exit strategies.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Risk, Compliance, Technology, and other key stakeholders to ensure a seamless vendor experience while protecting the bank's interests.
- Track regulatory updates and competitive developments that could impact partnerships
3. Process Acceleration & Continuous Improvement
- Challenge the status quo to identify and implement opportunities to shorten onboarding timelines without compromising quality or compliance.
- Leverage data and feedback to drive iterative improvements to the partner framework.
- Recommend emerging tools, platforms, and best practices to enhance vendor collaboration and integration speed.
4. Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a strategic liaison between internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
- Build and deliver presentations that convey new ideas or complicated data to various audiences within the firm, including senior leadership.
- Facilitate workshops and cross-functional discussions to align business needs with vendor capabilities.
5. Partnership Governance and Reporting
- Establish governance processes for the partnerships team to intake requests, engage with onboarding partners including sourcing, vendor management, risk and compliance; leading to consistent evaluation and escalation management .
- Developing partner-based business metrics including SLAs, KPIs, and risk indicators, recommending corrective actions as needed, or opportunities to deepen the relationship.
- Report partnership metrics and progress to senior leadership regularly.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- 6-9 years of experience in Vendor Management, Partnership Enablement, or related disciplines.
- Proven track record in building and managing partner or vendor engagement frameworks in a regulated financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of third-party risk management processes and requirements.
- Demonstrated success in designing and executing multiple onboarding pathways (POCs, sandboxes, integrations).
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills across diverse business lines.
- Ability to challenge existing processes constructively and lead change initiatives.
Preferred:
- Experience in working with FinTech vendors or technology solution providers in transaction banking.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing vendor relationships (e.g., OCC, FFIEC, EBA guidelines).
- Background in process re-engineering, Lean, or Agile delivery methodologies
