TD Auto Finance (TDAF) is a dynamic division within TD Bank, offering an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing business with Automotive Banking Centers located in Toronto, Calgary, and Montreal. Led by regional Market Leaders, our team of commercial bankers is dedicated to providing bespoke financing and cash management solutions to our clients within the automotive dealership industry in Canada.
The TDAF Commercial team specializes in lending to auto dealers across the country, delivering comprehensive solutions to meet their banking needs. Our credit exposure spans real estate and acquisition financing, operating credit, floor plan financing, lease lines, and equipment finance. Transactions can vary significantly in size and complexity, ranging from approximately $15 million for small, single-location dealers to over $500 million for large dealer groups.
Our goal at TDAF is to become Canada's number one auto lender. We are a robust team of over 900 professionals, including an external sales team located coast to coast, as well as teams in credit adjudication, funding, inside sales, loan administration, customer service, collections and recovery, and our federated functions of risk management, technology solutions, finance, and human resources.

Job Description
The Senior Credit Analyst plays a pivotal role in providing dedicated credit management support to a Senior Relationship Manager and offers comprehensive support to the credit team, acting as a mentor to junior colleagues. Reporting to a Senior Manager in the TDAF Credit Management group, the Senior Credit Analyst's responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Senior Relationship Manager in booking new business by preparing competitive credit packages within established timeframes to meet customer needs.
- Consistently delivering exceptional customer service at every interaction and executing plans to continuously improve the customer experience.
- Leading all aspects of analysis for an assigned portfolio covering customers across Western Canada, from our Calgary office.
- Assessing credit risk in compliance with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g., financial controls, segregation of duties, risk policies) to increase profitability and enable business growth.
- Recommending credit applications to the Senior Manager, Credit Management.
- Liaising with deal team members to ensure coordinated and timely transaction execution.
- Providing ongoing monitoring and control processes for the portfolio in accordance with internal Bank policies.
- Participating fully as a member of the team, supporting a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and collaboration, and ensuring timely communication of issues/points of interest.
- Providing thought leadership and industry knowledge for their area of expertise and participating in knowledge transfer/mentorship within the team and business unit.
- Staying current on emerging trends and developments and understanding the business, related tools, and techniques.
- Contributing to and leading various ad-hoc initiatives as assigned from time to time.
Job Requirements
- An undergraduate degree and/or relevant experience in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or another quantitative discipline.
- Prior experience in credit analysis in commercial banking is required.
- Strong credit, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Financial modeling experience.
- A strong team player with the ability to work both in a team environment and independently.
- The ability to engage in active dialogue with internal and external stakeholders (Unit VP/Credit VP/AVP, Market Leads, clients, legal counsel, etc.).
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and adapt to change in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- A high-energy leader who can be detail-oriented and exercise initiative with minimal direction.
