The Role
The Amplify Integrating Essential Skills Research Project has been designed to assess, train and prepare Jobseekers for future training and sustained employment through a contextualized Essential Skills training model. The Amplify Specialized Support Skills Trainer will work closely with the project Facilitator/Skill Coaches and Program Manager to provide specialized support for AMPLIFY participants with learning challenges. All services may be delivered through either face-to-face or online contact.


    •Support the ongoing development, delivery and coordination of the Amplify research project; •Liaise with designated WorkBC Career Coaches and Managers to promote the project and support participating clients; •Liaise with the program Facilitator/Skill Coaches and Digital Skills trainer to identify program participants with potential learning challenges; •Oversee appropriate participant assessments to identify potential participant learning challenges: these could include Multi-Dimensional Needs Assessments ( MDNA ) and Disability Related Needs Assessments ( DRENA ) •Interpret the results of any specialized assessments and facilitate specific interventions to assist participants in overcoming or minimizing their learning challenges; •Deliver skills enhancement training, individualized tutoring and one-on-one coaching for participants which may be either face-to-face or through online delivery; •Ensure training is relevant to participant needs by maintaining an interactive environment; •Respond to participant enquiries and requests, providing guidance and coaching; •Evaluate learners at regular intervals and adjust learning plans to accommodate individual needs; •Complete program documentation and maintain client and program files; •Support Program Manager in successfully implementing ISO standards for the Department, including the maintenance of project documentation and the program guide; •Complete and submit monthly activity reports; •Collaborate regularly with other Amplify delivery partners to review program goals, client successes and challenges, and discuss opportunities for ongoing program improvement; Miscellaneous as required.
To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need
    •University or College degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience; •Educational credential and experience relating to adult learning and working with adults with learning challenges or cognitive disabilities; •Proven ability to facilitate online group training programs; including the navigation and use of online breakout rooms; •Experience with one-on-one coaching for individualized learning plans; •Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom and Adobe Acrobat an asset; •Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; •Able to create / write reports, business correspondence & presentations; •Willing to travel and work throughout the Lower Mainland (if sessions delivered face-to-face); •A vehicle and valid B.C. Driver's license (if sessions delivered face-to-face); •Able to work independently and as part of a team; •To be comfortable working with multi-barrier clients that may have a variety of learning challenges or cognitive disabilities; •Satisfactory completion of a Criminal Records Check.

Certifications considered an asset:
    •Vocational Rehabilitation Counsellor; •Occupational Therapist
