Overview

Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, the Trainer is responsible for implementing and delivering training programs within Paladin Security Group Ltd., Winnipeg branch.

Job Skills / Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Accountable for creating and executing the training process including the needs assessment, development, delivery, and evaluation.
- Organize and conduct internal and external training courses aligning with business objectives and employee requirements. These courses include, but are not limited to: Basic Security Training, First Aid/CPR, and CPIs Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
- Provide accurate written reports and evaluations of student performance in the classroom environment and considerations for worksite placement.
- Deliver branch wide training courses using training mediums including employee handbooks, PowerPoint presentations, classroom sessions and e-learning modules.
- Provide flexible learning and assessment strategies which will meet the learning needs of a range of students.
- Responsible for the maintenance and delivery of the training content and programs for both new and existing Paladin Employees.
- Consult with industry for assessment and training upgrades when appropriate.
- Regularly inspect the training content and ensure that it aligns with best practices and is up-to-date.
- Troubleshoot problems or incidents that may occur within the training and development sector.
- Ensure Management is kept informed on the progress of operations.
- Follow the corporate Code of Ethics, company policies and procedures, and OH&S procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records
- Contribute to internal reviews and audits when requested to do so.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- 2+ years of experience in the field of training and development.
- Minimum 1 year security and/or law enforcement experience.
- Preference given to candidates with experience in course design, development or adult education.
- Basic Security Training, First Aid, CPI and any other applicable security training course certificates would be an asset.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Must have strong leadership, organization and facilitation skills.
- Ability to write and present training courses on a professional level.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
