The Opportunity
Join our Advanced Weather Intelligence team and help deliver meteorological and oceanographic modeling that supports critical decision-making for terrestrial and marine clients. Based in St. John's, NL, this permanent role offers the chance to apply your expertise in numerical modeling and cloud-based solutions to projects where safety, resilience, and performance are essential.
Your Impact
- Configure, install, operate, monitor, and maintain numerical weather prediction models (WRF and MPAS) in cloud environments such as Azure or AWS.
- Deploy and manage sea state models (WW3) to deliver accurate marine forecasts.
- Perform cloud-based data management activities to ensure reliable and scalable workflows.
- Conduct scientific model validations to maintain accuracy and integrity.
- Apply machine learning techniques to integrate metocean models and observations for site-specific solutions.
- Master's or PhD in Meteorology, Oceanography, Climatology, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in metocean modeling and numerical weather prediction.
- Strong capability in computer science, ideally with cloud-based scientific programming experience.
- Familiarity with machine learning applications and statistical analysis for environmental data.
- A passion for leveraging technology to improve safety and resilience in complex environments.
