Position Overview:
The Finance & Risk Oversight professional is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality financial and risk management outputs that support enterprise priorities. The role combines financial management, resource allocation, and strong risk oversight to ensure compliance, efficiency, and control in support of business objectives. This individual will partner closely with internal stakeholders across Finance, Technology, Risk, and Legal, providing trusted financial analysis, risk monitoring, and governance to enable strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Resource Allocation
- Accountable for completing all financial deliverables on time and in compliance with internal standards and quality control expectations.
- Deliver month-end reconciliation and reporting, including accrual submission, GL reconciliations of actuals vs. forecast, variance analysis, reclass submissions, and forecast revisions.
- Oversee invoice processing and ensure alignment with financial controls. - Conduct resource allocation reviews and monthly FTE reconciliation and reporting.
- Support annual budget planning, including resource allocation forecasts, project expenses, and BAU expense planning.
- Create and present financial summaries for leadership reviews, highlighting risks, opportunities, and actionable recommendations.
- Provide project financial support, including reporting reviews, GL control reporting, and accrual revisions.
Risk Oversight & Governance
- Collaborate with Legal Practice Areas and project teams to identify emerging risks and ensure alignment with enterprise policies.
- Implement financial controls, oversight mechanisms, and monitoring processes to increase accuracy while minimizing risk exposure.
- Provide independent review and challenge on financial assumptions, spend justifications, and risk reporting.
- Partner with Legal 1B Global Team to ensure proper governance, testing alignment, and policy compliance.
- Support Legal audits, attestations, and enterprise-wide reviews with accurate financial and risk data.
- Champion continuous improvement through process automation and data visualization to enhance risk and financial transparency.
Stakeholder Partnership
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including enterprise project teams, technology, finance, and business partners.
- Influence decision-making by presenting clear, data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.
- Act as a trusted advisor by combining financial insights with risk considerations to enable balanced, sustainable business outcomes.
Ad-Hoc Support
- Deliver financial and risk-related insights, reports, and analyses on request. - Contribute to enterprise initiatives, remediation activities, testing and regulatory requirements as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Macros, VLOOKUP) and proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI.
- MS Office Suite - Advance - Minimum 4 years of experience managing financial processes, risk oversight, and resource allocation.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholders.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to balance competing priorities under tight deadlines.
- Experience with Clarity, Fieldglass, or other enterprise financial management systems is an asset.
- Exposure to project management tools (MS Project, JIRA, etc.); PMP, Scrum Master, or Product Owner certification an asset.
