Innovate and Lead - As Senior Manager, Construction Site Operations, you will drive the safe and successful execution of complex construction and remediation work across Canada. You will strengthen our Safety-First culture, support multi-site teams, and ensure disciplined, predictable project delivery. This national, site focused role includes frequent travel to project locations across Canada.

You'll succeed by bringing visible safety leadership that ensures WSP's strong H&S culture is lived on site every day; by driving operational excellence through disciplined planning, relentless follow-through, steady problem-solving, and calm leadership on our project sites; and by fostering a strong people-centered culture where you mentor and grow capable site leaders, and create a respectful, inclusive environment where everyone can contribute.

Your Impact
  • Lead national site operations across remediation, demolition, ground improvement, mine closure, marine, and energy/power projects, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives are consistently met.
  • Champion Health and Safety as a core value by embedding risk identification, Life Saving Actions, JHSC engagement, and verification of controls through inspections and audits.
  • Oversee field readiness and project start-up, including constructability reviews, temporary works, permits, logistics, equipment planning, and mobilization.
  • Assume Constructor or Prime Contractor responsibilities when required, ensuring compliance with provincial and federal OHS legislation for construction and marine work.
  • Drive cost control and productivity through detailed planning, look-ahead schedules, and proactive change management aligned with CCDC and client requirements.
  • Lead subcontracting strategy and execution, including prequalification, tendering, safety expectations, quality standards, and performance oversight for self-perform crews and subcontractors.
  • Ensure environmental compliance related to erosion and sediment control, spill prevention, waste and hazardous materials handling, and alignment with remediation verification criteria.
  • Mentor Site Managers, Superintendents, HSE professionals, QA/QC leads, and Field Engineers, strengthening technical competency, succession planning, and team culture.

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • 15+ years of progressive construction leadership experience across heavy civil or industrial environments, including remediation, demolition, ground improvement, mine closure, marine, and energy/power.
  • Proven success delivering complex projects safely and predictably through rigorous planning, field controls, and commercial discipline.
  • Strong Health and Safety knowledge with practical experience applying provincial construction legislation and General Contractor or Constructor obligations.
  • Demonstrated strength in supervising self-perform and multi-contractor models with disciplined subcontractor management.
  • Proficiency in site scheduling tools (3/6-week look-aheads, CPM), earned value, cost tracking, quality systems, and change management processes.
  • Education in Construction Management, Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent experience; designations such as P.Eng., C.E.T., GSC, PMP, or NCSO/CSO are assets.
  • Mobility: Valid driver's license with ability for frequent travel to remote, northern, and marine environments, including extended rotations.
  • Bilingual (English/French) preferred.
